The challenge
First days set the tone. In hospitality, onboarding is often a rushed shadow shift, and new starters form their impression of a brand in the first hour. For this sample project we imagined a growing dessert brand, Moo Lala, opening new stores and wanting every new team member to start with the same warm welcome and the same understanding of what the brand is about.
The challenge was to cover the practical essentials without it feeling like a dry policy dump, and to make people feel they had joined somewhere they would enjoy working.
What we did
We built a short, upbeat induction that leads with the brand. A friendly welcome sets the scene, then learners move through the core values, the hero products and what it takes to create a great customer experience. The design leans fully into the brand's playful personality, so the course feels like an extension of the shopfront rather than a corporate module.
It is deliberately light and visual, built to be finished in about ten minutes on a phone, which suits a young, on-the-go workforce.
The result
The induction is built to get new starters confident and brand-aligned from day one, and to keep that first experience consistent as a hospitality business grows across sites. It shows how onboarding can do a practical job and still feel like the brand.
