The challenge
Good café staff do two jobs at once. They sell, by recommending the things people will love, and they keep customers safe, by getting allergen questions right. Both rely on genuinely knowing the menu, which is hard when new products come and go and training is usually a quick word from whoever is on shift.
This sample project imagined a bakery café, Crumb Eatery, that wanted its team to talk about the food with confidence and never guess when someone asks what is in it.
What we did
We built the course around the menu itself. Flip-card product profiles introduce the bestsellers, what goes into them and the allergens to flag, so staff learn the detail in a format that is quick to revisit. Friendly, practical tips, like knowing which items are vegan or gluten-free before a customer asks, turn knowledge into better service.
The whole module is dressed in the café's warm, handmade brand, so it feels like part of the place rather than a generic food-safety course.
The result
The training is built to make staff both more helpful and safer: confident enough to recommend, and accurate enough to be trusted on allergens. Turning product knowledge into a short, on-brand experience is designed to make it something new starters actually finish.
